Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Vodacom Lesotho (VCL) has utilized M300 000 for full installation of T\u0161ehla Primary School computer lab equipment. The hand over for this equipment was on Friday.<\/p>\n

The computer lab has been equipped with 10 computers with internet installation. It will give students access to technology, allow them to change the way they learn and interact with instructional materials and prepare them for a technologically driven global economy and marketplace. T\u0161ehla Primary School Principal \u2018Mamolelle Lethoko indicated that VCL has begun the<\/p>\n

campaign of boosting children\u2019s education through provision of technology equipment so that they have a better education. She said today they know and experience what it means to use a computer. She further urged the students to take care of the equipment and use it wisely for their own benefit. She mentioned that they have also been teaching students to engage in farming where they breed chicken layers. Lethoko reassured that they will assist students and improve their education through those computers. On behalf of VCL Managing Director, VCL Finance Director \u2018Mamoorosi Raditapole highlighted that their success is also Basotho\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have realized that the importance of internet has rapidly accelerated and so we intend to<\/p>\n

improve a lot of schools and people through technology and internet. We intend to move further together with Basotho while creating the future,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She added that sometimes even children have other important capabilities that they can showcase and also educate their elders and so they want to experiment and learn through children. She advised students to use those computers accordingly during their learning. She said they should look towards the future, by researching about things that they can implement and put their attention on. She said VCL is mandated to improve the livelihoods of Basotho. On the other hand, the District Education Manager in Leribe Motlatsi Mosoang said<\/p>\n

the new educational programme includes Computer programmes which have become a necessity in schools. He said by lending a helping hand, VCL is assisting the<\/p>\n

government as it is facing financial constraints. He also urged the students to take care of and use those computers wisely. He said they are lucky to have gotten the opportunity to learn computer at an early age and that some of them will become Information and Communication Technologists someday.<\/p>\n
