Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL) collaborated with the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) to rescue four siblings with a shelter in Moshoeshoe<\/p>\n

II, Maseru. The two roomed house was officially handed over by the two institutions on Wednesday along with furnisher and grocery worth over M50, 000.<\/p>\n

These institutions collaborated through their giving arms, Heal the world of LUCT and ETL\u2019s Higher life Foundation Lesotho (HFL). The beneficiaries include three boys who<\/p>\n

lived with a seventeen year old younger sister in a dilapidated house. According to ETL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dennis Plaatjies, the house was built upon<\/p>\n

request by the area\u2019s Chief Motlatsi Mabote, who is also a neighbor to the beneficiaries. ETL commits two percent of its annual revenue towards education<\/p>\n

of orphaned and vulnerable children under its philanthropic arm. \u201cWhen Chief Mabote approached us, he mentioned three words that aroused our interest,<\/p>\n

\u201corphaned, vulnerable, children\u201d we had to come and see what he was referring<\/p>\n

to and this is what we found, a risky building to be in,\u201d he said. Plaatjies went on to thank LUCT, his ETL team and the neighbors for contribution of<\/p>\n

water. He also thanked the Chief for taking responsibility on his flock. On behalf of LUCT, the Registrar, Moroka Hoohlo indicated that \u201cengaging in corporate social responsibility activities helps the university put in to<\/p>\n

practice what is called \u2018heal the World Foundation\u2019, an initiative that was established by the university founder with the purpose of alleviating poverty<\/p>\n

and ensuring that the university takes responsibility for the wellbeing of the environment around it and the people living in it. \u201d He stated that the beneficiaries are part of the many Basotho who have benefited<\/p>\n

from the numerous initiatives by the institution countrywide. He expressed his gratitude to ETL for the noble gesture and great partnership with the university.<\/p>\n

One of the beneficiaries thanked the chief for his contribution towards getting this shelter and also the corporates for the gift. \u201cI am speechless and happy that we shall no longer worry about the bad weather now that we have a proper shelter. I am really thankful,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
