Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>After being stuck at home for two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Bachelor SA\u2019s Marc Buckner can\u2019t resist his wanderlust anymore. \u201cI\u2019m just waiting for my agency to book the tickets.<\/p>\n

But hopefully I\u2019m going to get on a plane to Istanbul this weekend,\u201d he tells YOU from his home in Cape Town. \u201cI decided to do modelling in Istanbul. I\u2019ve probably done modelling five to six years ago.<\/p>\n

\u201d After two tough years, he says it\u2019s time for a change. Last year he split from Marisia van Wyk (27), whom he met on the second season of The Bachelor SA. The couple got together when he gave her his final rose on the hit dating show.<\/p>\n

They broke up after dating on-and-off for about two years but just as he was healing from the hurt, Marc was dealt another blow when his beloved dog Luna died earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Now he wants to put the pain of the past two years behind him. \u201cI want to leave South Africa. I\u2019ve been trying to emigrate for seven months but I\u2019m struggling with a passport and waiting for home affairs,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n

He laughs when we ask who\u2019s going to be South Africa\u2019s most eligible bachelor if he leaves. \u201cI\u2019ll still be coming back home,\u201d he says. Marc won\u2019t reveal if he\u2019s dating anyone but admits he\u2019s been taking better care of himself lately.<\/p>\n

\u201cI turn 40 in December. You know, when you go out with someone younger, you start to realise that you have to look at yourself. \u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s already started selling some of his property and cancelled his cellphone and gym contracts as he gets ready to travel. \u201cI also want to go to Germany for work and then visit friends in Greece and Italy.<\/p>\n

If I can get the passport, my future family will also be able to use it,\u201d he says. He quickly stops himself from saying any more. \u201cNo, wait. We can\u2019t talk about this right now.<\/p>\n

Maybe at a later stage,\u201d he says. Marc might be keeping mum about the special someone in his life but he\u2019s willing to talk about himself. With the big 4-0 approaching, he\u2019s been making sweeping changes to his lifestyle so he can model and travel again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI grew my hair out because I craved change and I also started focusing on my body to take care of myself,\u201d he tells us.<\/p>\n

He recently started sharing photos of his body transformation on social media to motivate others who want to get in shape. \u201cWe need to understand ourselves, whether it\u2019s emotionally or physically.<\/p>\n

If you have a goal, you can do it. You can work on yourself and improve, learn something new or be passionate about something. \u201d His goal right now is to take the modelling world by storm.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be quite established before I have kids one day,\u201d he says. While he\u2019s away, his mom will care for his fur child, LuSi.<\/p>\n

\u201cI convinced my mother to come from Durban and stay in my house so she could look after my dog because I wouldn\u2019t be able to take her with me.<\/p>\n

I want to fly out soon but I\u2019ll just be gone for a few months,\u201d he says. In the meantime, he\u2019s spending all his time bonding with his beloved pooch. \u201cI really enjoy jogging with LuSi or just seeing how happy she is at the dog park,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n
