Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The founder and president of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT), Dr Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing, died today at the age of 75. Reports indicate that he has been hospitalised beginning last week, but the cause of his death is still unknown.<\/p>\n

In his lifetime Lim has been honoured with 700 awards and recognitions from various parties over his contributions to the creative and educational industry. LUCTwas the first of its kind in Malaysia to be recognised as a University College in 2002, becoming a full-fledged university five years later.<\/p>\n

Dr Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing was a Malaysian artist, designer, author, entrepreneur, educationist and philanthropist who was recognized by the Malaysian government as the Father of Innovation in Creative Education.<\/p>\n

Limkokwing University boasts 13 campuses across the globe with over 30 000 students coming from more than 165 countries, studying in its campuses namely Botswana, Cambodia, eSwatini, Indonesia, Lesotho, Malaysia, Namibia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Uganda, and United Kingdom. In Lesotho Limkokwing was launched in October, 15, 2008 after its successful foray into Botswana the previous year.<\/p>\n
