Africa-Press<\/a> – Lesotho<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Hardly two years in office, the Prime Minister (PM) Dr Moeketsi Majoro faces a vote of no confidence. The call to unseat the incumbent Dr Majoro has amplified ahead of re-opening of the National Assembly from the winter recess on September 10th. . This follows the notice of motion filed by an MP (Member of Parliament) of Mokhotlong No. 79 Hon. Tefo Mapesela who is also the mover.<\/p>\n

If the motion succeeds, the new PM will be the Machache\u2019s No. 39 MP and also a leader of opposition Hon. Monyane Moleleki. He will be seconded by Hon. Kose Makoa, a PR member (proportional representative) under the Alliance<\/p>\n

of Democrats (DA) party. It is expected that the Speaker of the House Sephiri Motanyane will schedule a day for tabling this motion. Also if the motion is<\/p>\n

carried, Dr Majoro will be the second PM to step down on motion to unseat him. Although his predecessor was threatened by the vote of no confidence last year,<\/p>\n

that did not materialise as he resigned from office following pressure from his party to step down, thereby making a way for the economist cum politician to assume the premiership seat.<\/p>\n

From 2012 when Lesotho first had a coalition government, there is no PM in the coalition government that had carried its full term. The frequent changes in<\/p>\n

government causes the country to lose the donor funding, Informative Newspaper understands, this was manifest in the recent interview it held with the<\/p>\n
