Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) have stormed into the top four of the Vodacom Premier League after a convincing 3-0 win over Liphakoe yesterday.<\/p>\n

Goals from Ts\u030coarelo Mokoaleli, Monyatheli Ntobo and Ts\u030cepang Makapa sealed a comfortable victory for the police side who now have collected 55 points, two more than Matlama, who lost 2-1 to Lioli, and Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) who were held to a goalless draw by Lijabatho.<\/p>\n

With the season heading towards its conclusion and all the teams now left with two matches to play, every point counts. If LMPS win their remaining two games they will be guaranteed a place amongthe best four teams this season.<\/p>\n

Liphakoe head coach Kabelo Ts\u030cukulu did not take kindly to the defeat and said the first goal by Mokoaleli was offside. He felt the second assistant referee should have done better.<\/p>\n

In addition to the heavy scoreline, Liphakoe also had a man sent off. \u201cI don\u2019t want to complain about the referees but they featured an amateur for this game,\u201d Ts\u030cukulu said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe linesman (was at fault), if you look at the goals we conceded in the first half, the first one which affected our confidence.<\/p>\n

They got an offside goal and after that even the red card, we are already a struggling team and it made it worse,\u201d the Liphakoe coach added. \u201cWe were defending, we saw that the game was above us and we wanted to manage the last 20 minutes and not concede a lot.<\/p>\n

The league is a marathon, we want to get to the next game and play there with our team spirit still high. Losing with a big margin affects the players and when you are playing league games, if you realise you have lost you have to prepare for the next game,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In other games yesterday, Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) moved back to second place after thumping Naughty Boys 5-1 at Ha-Ratjomose. The win means the battle for the title continues and the army side are just three points behind leaders Bantu.<\/p>\n

However, LDF\u2019s fate no longer lies in their hands, it now depends on other teams doing them a favour. In another result, Manonyane came from behind to beat Machokha 2-1, while Swallows\u2019 relegation misery continued after they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Lifofane.<\/p>\n

Swallows are left with Naughty Boys and Lioli in their last two games. They must win both and hope that CCX also lose theirs. If not, \u2018Masoai-soai\u2019 will head back to the A Division next season.<\/p>\n
