Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Authorities in Lesotho have declared an indefinite nationwide curfew between the hours of 22:00-04:00; the measure will go into effect starting May 16.<\/p>\n

The directive is in response to increasing crime rates in the country and follows the May 15 fatal shooting of a popular radio presenter and journalist.<\/p>\n

Authorities will almost certainly deploy increased security to enforce the curfew. Local residents opposed to the measure could stage protests; police will likely move to forcibly disperse any gatherings that may materialize.<\/p>\n

Comply with the conditions of the curfews. Carry personal identification documents at all times. Remain courteous and cooperative if approached and questioned by security personnel. Plan for movement and business disruptions. Avoid all demonstrations.<\/p>\n
