Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The Embassy of the People\u2019s Republic of China last week Wednesday held a donation ceremony entitled \u201cWarm Children\u2019s Hearts: A China-Africa Joint Action\u201d at Victory Hall in Maseru.<\/p>\n

\u201cWarm Children\u2019s Hearts: A China-Africa Joint Action\u201d is an initiative by Prof Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, together with the organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD) with the aim of conveying warmth and care to African orphans on the occasion of International Children\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

150 Basotho Children from six care facilities received packages worth M150 000 which includes hygiene products, blankets, sanitary pads, stationery, ect. The Chinese Medical Team conducted medical examinations and provided necessary medicines to the children.<\/p>\n

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Lesotho Lei Kezhong, Senate President \u2018Mamonaheng Mokitimi, Foreign Affairs Minister Lejone Mpotjoane, Sports and Gender, Social Development Minister Pitso Lesaoana and the 17th Chinese Medical Team in Lesotho.<\/p>\n
