Africa-Press<\/a> – Lesotho<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Lesotho High Altitude Summer Marathon (HASM) yesterday unveiled its three technical sponsors. The main technical sponsor for (HASM) will be the Ministry of Gender Youth Sports and Recreation with M2, 5000, 000 for HASM, while Alliance Insurance Company has pledged M60, 000 to sponsor 5km race.<\/p>\n

The Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) will sponsor the 10km race to the tune of M256 000. Speaking at the unveiling of HASM Press Conference on Monday, Lerato T\u2019sosane LEC\u2019s General Manager at Customs and Relations said, they decided to come on board and sponsor the 10km race which will now be called the Lesotho Electricity Company 10km High Altitude Summer Marathon.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the Lesotho Athletes Amateur Association (LAAA) Public Relations Officer, Sejanamane Maphathe, confirmed that Kenya, South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe are the only countries which have confirmed they will be participating in HASM 16th edition.<\/p>\n

He said they are expecting a minimum of 300 athletes to take part in the marathon, but top Basotho marathon runners had not yet registered for the marathon.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly former champion of HASM top marathoner Teboho Nosi and Teboho Sello have registered for this marathon, we expect other well-known Lesotho Summer Marathon runners to register their names later as has become their habit,\u201d Maphathe said.<\/p>\n

He added race registration, transport and accommodation registration will be closed on Sunday 24th November and there will be no late registration on the day before the event.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
