Africa-Press<\/a> – Lesotho<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Government of Lesotho through the Ministry of Health is looking for specialist doctors from India, who will assist in government hospitals in the country.<\/p>\n

According to the Minister of Health, Honorable Nkaku Kabi, the department is not yet in a position to announce the list of doctors who will be available and when they will arrive.<\/p>\n

He explained that they would be working at Motebang Hospital, Leribe. Kabi says that for many years his department has been under pressure from overcrowded patients who need specialized doctors and the department does not have such specialists.<\/p>\n

“When these doctors come, they will stop us from sending patients to countries like India and South Africa,” said Kabi. Kabi said the Queen \u2018Mamohato Memorial Hospital was the only one where patients had been transferred to the country.<\/p>\n

He further added that if the hospital did not have the specialists that the patient needed, the patient would be transferred to South Africa. He also explained that last year there were doctors from South Africa who had to work at Mafeteng Hospital but a year later they had not yet arrived in the country but the department had signed with them.<\/p>\n

“This delay was due to the need for hospitals,” said Kabi.<\/p>\n
