Africa-Press<\/a> – Lesotho<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Finance Hon. Thabo Sophonea has denied any knowledge of the ongoing funding applications that are said to be sponsored by the Ministry of Finance in partnership<\/p>\n

with the World Bank. The said application forms are reported to be seen on social media platforms wherein Basotho businesses are called to apply. When addressing the media<\/p>\n

on Wednesday, Sophonea indicated that the same allegations were made in 2018. \u201cThe document has the name of Sesi F. Teboho who is said to be from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, which is why we would like to<\/p>\n

make Basotho aware that such ministry does not exist in the country rather those ministries are separate. Therefore the ministry is making a special plea<\/p>\n

to Basotho not to fill in such forms provided and to never open the link to the document on social media. We are investigating the possible consequences or<\/p>\n

fraudulent effects that may come from that documentation. Also, the matter has been reported to the police as investigations proceed,\u201d Sophonea stated.<\/p>\n

The Finance Minister noted that all funding that could be made by the ministry will be informed to the relevant ministers and ministries and then be officially announced to the nation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
