Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Free State-born Morena Ramoreboli, who has been assigned by the South African Football Association (SAFA) to oversee Bafana Bafana at the upcoming Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup has credited Lesotho football for its contribution in his career.<\/p>\n

Ramoreboli has had two spells working in the country, where he coached Lioli and was able to acquire his CAF A License badge through the Lesotho Football Association in 2016, which is the second biggest coaching qualification in the continent.<\/p>\n

According to media reports in South Africa, his A Licensing coaching badge from Lesotho, is the reason he was able to get the Bafana Bafana job for the upcoming regional tournament ahead of legendary Helman Mkhalele, who does not meet coaching requirements put by COSAFA for the tournament scheduled for Durban early in July.<\/p>\n

\u201cI need to be honest with you, I\u2019m very grateful with the contribution that Lesotho has had in my career especially Lioli FC, where I worked as a coach,\u201d Ramoreboli said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe challenges I faced in Lesotho made me the coach that I have become today, the pressure that came with the job has improved my understanding of football because it was completely a different challenge to what I had experienced before working in South Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was able to expose me to different things, knowing how players and people in football in another country see and approach football.
\nRamoreboli stated that he did not struggle a lot when he took over the job at Jwaneng Galaxy as he had already worked in a different country coaching Lioli in Lesotho.<\/p>\n

The 53-year-old led Galaxy to the league title in his second season in Botswana to add to his trophy cabinet that already boasts winning the COSAFA Cup with Bafana Bafana in 2021 as well as the COSAFA Under-20 Championship as the assistant coach in 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was easy for me to adapt to coaching in Botswana after I left South Africa because of the experience I had gathered during my time in Lesotho and honestly speaking, I was able to hit the ground running at Galaxy,\u201d Ramoreboli said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, I believe that all the successes I have had in recent years especially in Botswana, I\u2019m very proud to link them with my time in Lesotho. They trusted me as a South African who had gone there looking for a job and gave me the opportunity to coach a big team like Lioli.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbove all that, Lesotho through the Lesotho Football Association gave me a chance to hold one of the biggest coaching qualifications on the continent because I did my CAF A License in the country and today, I\u2019m counted among big coaches with big qualification because Lesotho gave me an opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you that whenever I get a call to assist Lesotho, I\u2019m always available and I remember recently when the national team coaches Veselin Jelusic and Leslie Notsi wanted me to help them organise a friendly game in South Africa, I obliged as quickly as I could.<\/p>\n

The contribution that Lesotho had in my career, I will always be thankful and available to assist,\u201d he said. Ramoreboli said he would recommend a lot of coaches in South Africa to go and work in Lesotho as it would help in their growth.<\/p>\n
