Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Muckraker thought it would take her months to swallow the bitter reality that Zodwa \u2018Pantyless\u2019 Wabantu will not be displaying her wares in Lesotho any time soon.<\/p>\n

For days, it looked like no amount of wine would drown her sorrows. Tears were shed and curses uttered. The church leaders who blocked her show have done us dirty.<\/p>\n

Muckraker will neither forgive nor forget this injustice. Henceforth, she will be on the lookout for any church leaders who get up to some ungodly act.<\/p>\n

There will be gnashing of teeth. Those without teeth will be given. This is not a threat but a solemn promise. But until there is a church leader to spank, Muckraker will keep her cool.<\/p>\n

Now that even the government has jumped on the bandwagon of those holier-than-thou church leaders sabotaging the Pantyless show, we can only imagine what pleasure she would have delivered to Maseru.<\/p>\n

And so we endure the mundane that we call entertainment. Camp chairs on the roadside. Hanky-panky. Nyafu-nyafu. Some fariki. 4th Street and Cellar Casca in the tummies.<\/p>\n

Some gossip here and there. Watching the escalator at Pioneer Mall. That\u2019s about as much fun there is in Maseru, a boring little town masquerading as a city.<\/p>\n

But there are days when those things would not tickle the mind and banish boredom. Muckraker was having one of those dreary days when she stumbled on a profound video shot in rural Lesotho.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a video of an old man quizzing Uncle Sam on his campaign promise to build roads. Their conversation happened at an RFP rally. Uncle Sam: Come let\u2019s shake hands.<\/p>\n

Wise Old Man: Wait Mr Matekane, I will shake your hand. But first, tell me. Are you saying there will ever be a road here? Uncle Sam: Sure! Why not? I have my own machinery.<\/p>\n

The Wise Old Man didn\u2019t push further but he is not convinced. Of course, the Wise Old Man was right to be sceptical. After all, he had heard such political campaign talk from other politicians.<\/p>\n

Muckraker has been watching that video for days. She watches it every time she sees a minister\u2019s car, meets someone wearing an RFP T-shirt, passes by the RFP\u2019s offices or meets an RFP supporter.<\/p>\n

She watches it when she sees the colour white, purple and green. Watch, laugh, watch, laugh, watch and laugh. Why, you may ask? Because that video is the best summary of what has happened since the election.<\/p>\n

The road that Uncle Sam promised is yet to be built. His \u2018yellow plant\u2019 he threatened to unleash on the roads is nowhere to be seen. The Wise Old Man was sceptical that a road would ever be built in his area but some of us don\u2019t even know if we will still have roads by the end of August.<\/p>\n

The roads are leaving instead of coming. Our church leaders should focus on praying for this government instead of sweating to block Pantyless Zodwa from coming to make us happy.<\/p>\n
