Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>His Majesty King Letsie III accepted letters of credence from Angola Ambassador to Lesotho, Mr. Rui Orlando Ferreira De C. Da Silve Xavier and of Ambassador Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic to Lesotho, Mr. Mohamed Yelslem Beisat Deich at the Royal Palace in Maseru on Wednesday. Accepting letters of credence from Mr.<\/p>\n

Silve Xavier, His Majesty said the presence of a new Ambassador is a positive signal of Angola\u2019s commitment to reinforce bonds of cooperation between the two countries, expressing hope that during his tenure of Office, relations will grow from strength to strength and allow both countries to explore other bonds of cooperation.<\/p>\n

He urged Ambassador Xavier to establish a framework structure of cooperation to enable the two countries explore in Tourism, Education and other areas, expressing hope that the efforts of the Angolan President, who is the Chairman of the African Union for Peace and Reconciliation find everlasting peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mozambique will bear fruits so that African continent could achieve socio-economic development.<\/p>\n

Presenting his letters of credence, Ambassador Silve Xavier said there is a need for both countries to allow free movement of their people, goods and services, saying Angola aims to strengthen further bonds of cooperation in textile, water treatment, agriculture and education amongst others.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, when accepting letters of credence from Mr. Beisat Deich, His Majesty said both Lesotho and Sahrawi share common membership in the African Union, saying they have both been working together in ensuring that AU achieves its goals, particularly in complete liberation of Africa and operationalisation of free trade amongst others.<\/p>\n

When presenting his credentials, Ambassador Deich said Lesotho and Sahrawi share common membership in the AU and therefore pledged his commitment to enhancing the existing relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

His Majesty assured both Ambassadors of the government and Basotho\u2019s support during their tenure of office to ensure their duties become a success. Meanwhile, both Ambassadors paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Mr. Samuel Ntsokoane Matekane.<\/p>\n
