Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Borussia Dortmund forward Se\u0301bastien Haller has been ruled out of Tuesday\u2019s Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Atle\u0301tico Madrid with a recurrence of his left ankle injury.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cHaller injured his ankle again unfortunately,” said Dortmund coach Edin Terzic\u0301 on Monday. “He will now have complete rest for a week. There will be a final diagnosis on Saturday to determine the downtime a little more precisely. We assume he won\u2019t be available for two to three weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Haller scored a late goal in Dortmund\u2019s 2-1 loss at Atle\u0301tico in the first leg on Wednesday, but got injured early in the team\u2019s Bundesliga win at Borussia Mo\u0308nchengladbach on Saturday.<\/p>\n

He recovered from a left ankle injury to play for Ivory Coast at Africa Cup of Nations \u2013 scoring in the final to win the title \u2013 but returned with a recurrence of the injury.<\/p>\n

The player made only substitute appearances for Dortmund until getting his first league start since mid-September on Saturday. He had to go off in the ninth minute.<\/p>\n

Haller returned to the pitch last year after a battle with testicular cancer.<\/p>\n
