Africa-Press<\/a> – Lesotho<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>The work of social media as a form of interventions in rescuing the children and ensuring their wellbeing: Lilaphalapha TV and Social Welfare Lesotho<\/p>\n

I was intrigued by the first episode I watched of Lilaphalapha TV, whereby the children were rescued from a house after they were left alone, hungry by their mother who allegedly went to Johannesburg, South Africa.<\/p>\n

Lilaphalapha TV heard about it, they broadcasted on social media, spoke to the responsible departments and managed to get the children the assistance they needed, children were taken to a safety place, a home for the orphaned and vulnerable children by the social welfare.<\/p>\n

A little introduction to who is behind Lilaphalapha TV: Bofihla Neko is a young enthusiastic, passionate and funny Mosotho man, he is known as a film maker, a comedian and an actor.<\/p>\n

In all that he does, whether its stand-up comedy, film or talking he adds humour making hearts warm up hence why we watch Lilaphalapha TV, he makes the sad situations bearable despite the fact that they are poignant to the core, he adds a spice of humour.<\/p>\n

Mr Neko of Lilaphalapha TV is a comedian that realised that there is nothing funny about poverty, hurt and strives of the people, so he uses the connections, the fan base structures on his Facebook page to rescue this vulnerable children and get them assistance, be there for them in times of need.<\/p>\n

He is also an employee at the Lesotho Flour Mills where he often gets this victims of violence (poverty is the worst violence) basic Mealie Meal and bread flour while seeking a permanent help.<\/p>\n

This article came after the second episode I watched where Mr Neko the host, was at Ha Leqele. He went there because he was told that the three year old twins who were left by their mother and father to their \u2018step mother\u2019 were eating from the rubbish piles in the village.<\/p>\n

These toddlers were addressed by the Lilaphalapha TV crew, with some clothes, food and items that could keep whoever is taking care of them some time to feed them and clothe them.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s with pride that we acknowledge this son of the soil and say, its individuals working in this manner that shall make Africa great again. It\u2019s with one man\u2019s action that a child\u2019s life can be changed forever.<\/p>\n
