Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Vodacom Premier League (VPL) will be back in action after prematurely ending due to the advent of Covid-19 last year. The Premier league will resume on<\/p>\n

Saturday May 15th. In an interview, Bantu Football Club (FC) Communications and Marketing Manager (CMM) Bokang Phasumane, stated that the Vodacom Premier<\/p>\n

League will commence next week. \u201cWe are trying by all means to be at our best in terms of preparations, our players seemed to be more motivated and are determined<\/p>\n

to win all games ahead despite the challenges that they encountered while all soccer games where suspended,\u201d articulated Phasumane. The CMM indicated that the<\/p>\n

players\u2019 attendance to the training session is promising as all players are attending the sessions and they seem to be more focused on the team\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n

\u201cWinning every game is our motto\u201d, Phasumane told Informative Sport that their aim for<\/p>\n

this year is to defend their championship title. Phasumane further indicated that Bantu FC Head Coach Bob Mafoso has implemented new technical drills that<\/p>\n

will help the team to attack as one unit and also defend as a team since they had enough time to prepare before the resumption of the league. This is the third<\/p>\n

week that Bantu FC has been training. During the first two weeks, Bantu FC held its training sessions at Lechoboro ground in Mafeteng. He said he is very excited that<\/p>\n

the fans will now attend the matches. He added that the fans are the source of income through gate-takings; \u201cThe money collected is used to pay players and<\/p>\n

covers other administrative activities,\u201d. Phasumane stated that it is very challenging for players to play in this weather since they are not used to playing in winter as it is the first time the league games take place during<\/p>\n

winter. He stated that they are trying by all means to abide by the Covid-19 regulations, such as screening and regular testing and even sanitising training equipment before and after training<\/p>\n

sessions. Moreover, Phasumane said Bantu FC fans from 15 different branches played a major role by raising funds from February 09th. \u201cThe money was deposited into Bantu FC account weekly to help the team to pay its players<\/p>\n

and coach while there were no gate-collections which were usually used to cover all those costs,\u201d he said. All players are still in good conditions including the technical team.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019My boys are ready to start over from where we ended\u2019\u2019. He further indicated that there are no injuries except the Midfielder Lindokhuhle Enoch Phungulwa who is still recovering from his injury.<\/p>\n

Amat\u0161o Matebele<\/b><\/p>\n

will play against LMPS FC on Sunday, 16th May. Bantu FC is so far at the top of log with 12 points of three wins while LMPS FC stands at number 9 on the league table.<\/p>\n

In a separate interview with CCX FC General Manager Tumo Mabokoane stated that CCX is more than ready to resume with the league games. \u201cOur boys are determined and more motivated,\u201d said<\/p>\n

Mabokoane. He added that his team is willing to give only positive results. He continued, \u201cI am so glad that the supporters are allowed to attend our games<\/p>\n

since they are the one who motivate our players through their melodious songs, also the gate-takings from soccer fans are our source of income. The money will<\/p>\n

help us to pay our players and cover transport fees and other administrative issues\u201d. Mabokoane stated that 90% of CCX players are students and therefore<\/p>\n

the team is easily manageable and some costs are reduced. Tumo stated that having players that have something in common like being work mates or schoolmates enables<\/p>\n

players to know each other better, understand each other\u2019s strengths and weaknesses, and as a result, they play better on the pitch. He said he has no doubt that CCX is going to win its game against Kick4life FC on Sunday 16th May.<\/p>\n
