Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Minet Lesotho, previously known as Aon Lesotho on Monday, November 13, 2017 launched its Risk, Reinsurance and Human Resources Advisory operations, marking the beginning of an enhanced offering to support the Lesotho and the greater African market.<\/p>\n

According to Africa CEO of Minet Group Joe Onsando, in February 2017, Aon plc announced its decision to change the ownership structure of its operations across 10 Sub-Saharan countries, including Uganda, converting what were once owned entities into Aon\u2019s largest global correspondent network.<\/p>\n

He added that this process has now been completed and effective from the 3rd of November the stipulated conditions have been met in six out of the ten counties.<\/p>\n

The six countries are Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Uganda and Zambia. \u201cThe transaction spans across 10 countries and regulatory approvals for the remaining countries are expected in the first quarter of 2018,\u201d said Onsando. The new group will trade as Minet, a well-known and trusted brand across Africa, and will become Aon\u2019s largest Global Network Correspondent.<\/p>\n

Aon employees in these countries as well as key senior leadership, who have extensive industry experience and knowledge of their clients\u2019 operations will remain part of the operations that its partner, Capitalworks, has acquired to ensure good leadership, continuity and stability for all clients and colleagues alike.<\/p>\n

Minet Lesotho Chief Operating Officer\/Chief Finance Officer, xxxx Leboela said there was an ever increasing need to provide risk, reinsurance and related human resource advisory solutions to companies operating in the country, and the agility that the transaction provided will place Minet Lesotho in the best possible position to service the growing and expanding middle class market.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe at Minet would like to provide our assurance that you will continue to receive the same exceptional service you have come expect from Aon, backed by its global depth of expertise combined with our in market expertise and added agility,\u201d said Leboela.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that combined with Aon\u2019s global capabilities and the support of its investor, Capitalworks, Minet will leverage its expertise and economies of scale to bring clear benefits for our clients.<\/p>\n

Principal Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Malisebo Mokela, revealed that the Minet Group has 890 employees and 27 of them are in Lesotho, therefore he pointed out that Lesotho was a very important market for Minet\u2019s growth in Africa.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur 27 employees are servicing customers across key sectors of the economy such as agriculture, mining, infrastructure, retail and the public sector and will continue to do so,\u201d said Mokela.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking forward to unlocking growth sector by leveraging cutting edge of technology and delivering solutions that solve our customer\u2019s challenges,\u201d Mokela further said.<\/p>\n

Minet Group Chairman and Principal at Capitalworks, Gareth Willis, said they will be working alongside Minet management to build on the Aon heritage as a trusted partner to clients in protecting the people and their assets in Africa.<\/p>\n

He stipulated that they were specifically looking forward to taking advantage of opportunities that bring solutions to the various local market needs as well as to secure a market in Africa\u2019s growing middle class.<\/p>\n

\u201cCapitalworks is looking forward to partnering with the Minet management team that has grown the Group to be the largest risk and human capital advisory network on the continent,\u201d said Willis.<\/p>\n
