Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>AVANI Lesotho Hotel & Casino has come with a new concept of a members-only facility to cater for their upmarket customers and corporations that prefer privacy and business match-matching in an ambient environment.<\/p>\n

Mohale oa Basotho<\/p>\n

Whisky & Cigar Lounge was finally launched at the hotel Saturday last week, at an event that was graced by His Majesty King Letsie III, who ultimately became the first patron of the exclusive facility.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the launch, Avanti Lesotho Group General Manager Willen Van Heerden said whisky, being a connoisseur\u2019s drink, is associated with greatness and perfection for all those who want to achieve success in business and social life in a relaxed environment, therefore the \u2018Mohale oa Basotho\u2019 Whisky & Cigar Lounge is the perfect environment for such occasions.<\/p>\n

The name, Mohale oa Basotho, which literary means \u2018the legend of Basotho\u2019 has been motivated by the fact that the premium bar will be offering some of the top class and world renowned whiskey and cigar brands for its clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis lounge is about creating a great experience for the discerning customer who seeks solace and to unwind while sipping on their single malt, overlooking the capital of Lesotho, Maseru and its beautiful sunsets,\u201d Van Heerden said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to have finally launched a membership-only facility.<\/p>\n

The concept has been long in the making and we want to grow it and establish an exclusive facility focussed on ensuring that you feel something special, because you are legends in your own right,\u201d Van Heerden said at the launch.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile there is arguably no right or wrong to drink whisky, nor the right or wrong place to enjoy it, and equally no right or wrong \u2018nose\u2019 or \u2018palate\u2019 preference, but by giving consideration to the above, the experience of drinking whisky can be heightened and made even more pleasurable,\u201d he said further.<\/p>\n

Avani Lesotho Food & Beverage Manager Donald Moahi told guests that although the facility was a bit pricey for the ordinary man, business executives and corporations would find the place much ideal for that exclusive business function or deal that has to be done in the most memorable way.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen an individual member joins the club we give them an entry level whisky bottle, dinner once every three months, snacks, free newspaper of the day and Wi-Fi and a locker to keep their whisky bottle should they need it next time.<\/p>\n

Everything is much personalised here,\u201d said Moahi. In addition to above, Moahi said, members would be entitled to free Casino chips that can be accessed each time a member feels like betting on the lower ground floor, depending on their mood.<\/p>\n

He also encouraged members to come up with suggestions of incentives they may need as part of the facility. Membership to the gym, exclusive dining, private functions and other business necessities were suggested by those present at the launch.<\/p>\n

Should the members opt to enjoy a Havana cigar or any other smoke for that matter, Moahi said, they can gladly do so at the bar\u2019s balcony that overlooks the city of Maseru \u2013 giving one a picturesque view of the capital, especially at night.<\/p>\n

The launch of the facility also coincided with the hosting of the Lesotho Wine Festival at which His Majesty had the chance to tour earlier on. At the Whisky & Cigar Lounge the king was introduced to some of the South African-trained Basotho wine makers who have blended SA wines with local flavours to make them authentic Lesotho wines<\/p>\n

One of the local wine producers, Mapole Maema, who was more than delighted to present her new wine \u2018Khotso Pula Nala\u2019 to the king, said she paired a range of South African wines with local indigenous fruit to give them that local flavour.<\/p>\n

She went through the process of selecting the right grapes for the right type of wine and sampled out a glass to everyone in attendance, including His Majesty King Letsie III.<\/p>\n

Other wine and whisky producers from South Africa also went through the same presentation procedure. To cap it all, some of the finest bar foods were also being sampled during the presentations and the wine or whisky tasting. At the end of the day it was time well spent in one of the most luxurious facilities ever in Lesotho \u2013 for the lucky ones anyway.<\/p>\n
