Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>MG Health \u2013 previously known as Medigrow Lesotho, which cultivates and manufactures medical Cannabis flower and extracts oils has received official confirmation<\/p>\n

that their stringent manufacturing processes are aligned with the European Union (EU)\u2019s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. According to MG Health Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andre Bothma, they received a<\/p>\n

business license to operate as a vertically integrated producer of medical cannabis flower in 2017. He said they set their operations in the village called Ha Marakabei and they realized just then that to be competent in the international<\/p>\n

markets, they needed to comply with GMP standards. He said they brought in extras from all over the world and put together a strong team and they believe<\/p>\n

they have produced one of the most advanced plants in the world. Bothma said with fewer than 20 companies worldwide that have achieved this certification of trust, this feat positions MG Health as the manufacturer in<\/p>\n

Africa able to export medicinal cannabis flower as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) to the EU. He further said upheld by all member states of the EU, the GMP guidelines state the<\/p>\n

minimum requirements that a manufacturer must meet to assure that their products are consistently high in quality from batch to batch for their intended use.<\/p>\n

Bothma highlighted that the recent confirmation of EU GMP compliance for MG Health was granted by the government of the Upper Bavaria district in Germany after a<\/p>\n

request to import from Lesotho was made by Drapalin Pharmaceuticals \u2013 a licensed importer and distributor based in Munich and a strategic partner with<\/p>\n

MG Health in German. \u201cThis means we have authorization to export our products as an API into Germany and the wider EU market,\u201d he said. MG Health Business Development Officer Luke Van Der Nest said compared to other EU<\/p>\n

nations, Germany is known within the industry to have one of the most stringent pharmaceutical requirements for medical cannabis. \u201cThey treat cannabis in the<\/p>\n

same manner as pharmaceutical products and narcotics. So it is not as simple as being licensed and producing your own cannabis with a good test result and<\/p>\n

shipping it in,\u201d he said. He further said they are one of the strictest regulators and they wanted to find the most stringent standards and make sure that they adhere to those, to<\/p>\n

generate that global confidence for patients, prescribing doctors and everyone else along the supply chain. He said effectively opening up global medical<\/p>\n

markets for the company, alignment with GMP standards will give doctors the certainty they require that the product they are prescribing to their patients is consistent, of high quality, safe and effective.<\/p>\n
