Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Mamelodi Sundowns Brazilian striker, Lucas Ribeiro, adefeated Lionel Messi and Jamal Musiala to win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Goal of the Tournament title.<\/p>\n

Ribeiro\u2019s moment of magic occurred during Sundowns\u2019 group-stage matchup against Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund in the US tournament.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the contest\u2014and now the entire tournament\u2014was Ribeiro\u2019s single goal, despite the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) ultimately losing 4\u20133 in an exciting battle.<\/p>\n

After gaining control in his own half, the forward went on a blazing 67-yard run, tearing through Dortmund\u2019s defence and finishing with a cool goal from Gregor Kobel.<\/p>\n

With 40,000 fan votes and a tonne of social media attention, the goal defeated goals from Messi and Musiala to win the top prize.<\/p>\n

In July 2023, Ribeiro signed a long-term contract with Mamelodi Sundowns that would last until June 2028.<\/p>\n

Sundowns viewed his arrival as a declaration of purpose, and he has since established himself as a vital member of Miguel Cardoso\u2019s team.<\/p>\n

After his impressive performance at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which Chelsea won, he reportedly drew the attention of French club AS Saint-Etienne.<\/p>\n
