Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The 2020-2030 Digital Transformation Strategy (DTS) for Africa remains imperative to the flagship initiative of Agenda 2063 otherwise \u2018The Africa We Want.\u2019<\/p>\n

This was said by the Principal Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), Mr. Kanono Ramashamole when closing continental validation meeting held in Maseru on Thursday.<\/p>\n

He explained that hosting the African Union (AU) family through this meeting has been tremendous as in one spirit, unity and collaboration, participants have shared vision for the region\u2019s digital future.<\/p>\n

He added that participation in this meeting reflects attachment all have to DTS 2020-2030.<\/p>\n

The PS said as the workshop on validation of the Draft Report on the Assessment of the DTS comes to an end, he extended his heartfelt appreciation to all for their active deliberations.<\/p>\n

Over the past three days, he said they have explored challenges faced, and the immense opportunities that lie ahead, adding from policy harmonisation and infrastructure development to digital skills, local content, and last-mile connectivity.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur deliberations have reaffirmed the transformative power of digital technologies in shaping inclusive and resilient societies across Africa.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded that all have been reminded that DIS is a vital tool to guide them in unlocking socio-economic growth, generate jobs, foster innovation, and enhance Africa\u2019s competitiveness in the global digital economy.<\/p>\n
