Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) holds the press conference at Bambatha T\u0161ita Arena, where newly elected President, Lijane Nthunya unveiled his strategic plans for LeFA.<\/p>\n

He puts the media\u2019s thirst for information \u2013 a challenge Nthunya acknowledge.<\/p>\n

The President unveiled a plan firmly rooted in his election slogan, designed to instil a \u201cwinning mentality in Basotho hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nthunya\u2019s strategy is a bottom-to-top renovation, starting with a comprehensive LeFA\u2019s administration. The first touch-up will bring in qualified professionals to come up with a better working environment.<\/p>\n

His dreams are all-around, with huge improvements in Competitions, Capacity Building and Training (referees and first aid), Infrastructure and Equipment, and active pursuit of Marketing and Sponsorships.<\/p>\n

Of prime concern is the revival of old tournaments Top 4 and Top 8, and Inter-District Competitions.<\/p>\n

Critically, Nthunya\u2019s look towards the standard shift in the domestic football by forcing the Premier League to assume the role of an independent, professional entity, making the example from the Republic of South Africa\u2019s PSL that shows its independence. The professional elevation is also in the sights for the A and B Divisions, considering the going distresses management in the A Division.<\/p>\n

The plan also has a strong emphasis on Youth Development, with a goal to introduce Under-17 leagues in each district. To complement this ambitious scheme, a Sports Fund will be set up.<\/p>\n

There will not be an overlook of excellence; new incentives and reward schemes of Man of the Match, Player of the tournament, and Defender of the tournament will be rewarded after each match.<\/p>\n

The President spoke to rooted cultural issue in responding to a request asked by Relebohile T\u0161ita about parental involvement and how the media play the role in the information distribution that includes participation of girl in sports.<\/p>\n

He insisted that development demands the involvement of parents, and LeFA must address positively cultural tendencies to make it \u2018unusual for a girl to play football.\u2019 Nthunya assured parents that LeFA will launch campaigns that includes protection and assurance, making it easier for parents to track children\u2019s involvement and movement.<\/p>\n

This press conference was not just about plans; it was an appeal to action. LeFA, under Nthunya\u2019s leadership, is looking towards a future where Lesotho football is not just played, but wins, both within and outside Lesotho.<\/p>\n
