Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>With reports showing Lesotho\u2019s stagnant pace or at less than 50 percent in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7 and 11, this is corroborated by villagers of Ha-Elia, Roma, a village situated about 45km from Maseru with no electricity, access roads and bridges.<\/p>\n

SDG 7 focuses on ensuring universal access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy, which includes modern electricity for households and transportation while SDG 11 addresses infrastructure, such as roads, to make communities inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.<\/p>\n

Having electricity, access roads and bridges has been Pharaoh\u2019s dream for over decades and decades for the Ha-Elia community. Therefore, they say they are a forgotten community when it comes to development or services, yet they are only remembered during election campaigns and thereafter they are tossed aside.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Thursday, Area Chief, Chieftainess \u2018MaEugenia Lephoto said for a village which is in a peri-urban Roma, they had hoped and longed for developments and services but for decades and decades they have been a forgotten community with no developments at all.<\/p>\n

She said their area is inaccessible, with no access roads which makes it difficult for them to enjoy other services \/ developments such as electricity and transportation<\/p>\n
