Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The Local Community in the Seventh Local Government Area in Qacha\u2019s Nek district has teamed up to work out a plan to prevent the rise of Covid-19 virus in the run-up to the Easter holidays.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Education, Peace and Behavior Development Officer (DPE) Mr Khutlang Nchochoba explained that the main purpose of the meeting was to remind the public of their responsibility in the fight against Covid-19. He explained that the conference will be for the community from twenty (20) constituencies.<\/p>\n

“One of the things that has challenged us to focus on this course, is the fact that the vast majority of the population does not seem to be complying with the guidelines set by the World Health Organization (WHO) to reduce the Covid-19 rate,” he said.<\/p>\n

rialo. Continuing his story Nchochoba points out that people living in rural areas are facing the problem of sinning in the light of many things as they always think that Covid-19 infections are only found in urban areas and not in urban areas.<\/p>\n

in rural areas. He also said that they were holding patrols and vaccines at a time when they were banned in order to reduce the spread of Covid-19 infections as there was not enough space in the community (social distancing).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are very worried about this time as we will be welcoming our brothers and sisters from neighboring South Africa who are looking for a holiday, because during the Christmas holidays we noticed that Covid-19 numbers were rising significantly after they back to their jobs.<\/p>\n

“At this stage we are also very scared because they will go into the fray again where they do not want to test Covid-19,” he said.<\/p>\n

In an interview with one of the youths in Lebakeng Ha-Letete Ms’ Mashakhane Ramphehela explained that during the Easter holidays they have started holding public meetings to remind them of the role they should play in reducing Covid’s spread. 19 as that is the responsibility of the whole community.<\/p>\n

He also said that it had come to their notice that education was inadequate in the community because they were not walking around wearing rags and gathering together which were the prohibited items that the community was strongly advised to pay attention to.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will work hard to ensure that all people who enter our communities from other parts of the country as well as South Africa who come for the Easter holidays are reported, this will be done to ensure that such people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 disease. Reports will be made to kings and local government officials so that testers will not be taken to the centers where they want to be tested.<\/p>\n
