{"id":65076,"date":"2025-12-09T08:16:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-09T08:16:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/lesotho\/all-news\/lipholo-granted-bail"},"modified":"2025-12-09T09:12:34","modified_gmt":"2025-12-09T09:12:34","slug":"lipholo-granted-bail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/lesotho\/all-news\/lipholo-granted-bail","title":{"rendered":"LIPHOLO GRANTED BAIL"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"ap-article-header-tag\"> <strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Lesotho. <\/strong> <\/span>The High Court of Lesotho, through Justice Maliepollo Makhetha, on Monday granted bail of M10,000 with a surety of M100,000 to Basotho Covenant Movement (BCM) leader Dr Ts\u2019epo Lipholo, who is accused of misusing his position to confuse and divide the Basotho nation and to violate the dignity and reputation of the royal family and His Majesty.<\/p>\n<p>While re-applying for bail, Advocate Rants\u2019iuoa Lesenyeho, representing the petitioner, told the court that a new condition had emerged, as Dr Lipholo had developed chronic illnesses, including arthritis. He said the prison environment was not conducive to his health.<\/p>\n<p>He further stated that Dr Lipholo requires home based treatment because under prison regulations, inmates are locked in their cells for certain hours.
