The Anglican Church of Lesotho has called upon the youth, particularly boys, to engage in worship and reflection as the New Year begins. Dean Ralebakeng Ramabanta emphasized the importance of faith and prayer while addressing the pressing issue of drug abuse among the youth. He urged young people to view the Church as a refuge from life’s challenges, including substance abuse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong> <\/span>The Anglican Church of Lesotho (ACL), St. Mary and St. James Cathedral has called youth, especially boys, to worship this New Year and beyond.<\/p>\n

This was said by the Dean, The Very Reverend Ralebakeng Ramabanta during the first Sunday service commencing the New Year.<\/p>\n

According to the Dean, the Church acknowledges this year spiritually as a time for all to increase their faith, pray more and worship God.<\/p>\n

He alluded that the major challenge facing the youth today, especially boys, relates to use and abuse of drugs, indicating the Church has a role to ensure that such challenges are tackled.<\/p>\n

He explained that it is time the youth introspect their ways of doing things, and consider coming to Church as a refuge against drugs and other life threatening challenges facing them today.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing is too hard for the Lord, with one accord we can be able to reverse the situation amongst our future Leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Dean\u2019s point of view comes a few days after the Community of Khubetsoana through different opinion leaders took a stance and announced initiatives meant to tackle use and abuse of drugs amongst the youth.<\/p>\n

The Agency has established that the Ministry of Health (MoH) is also making measures through youth drug survivors to campaign against drug usage amongst the youth.<\/p>\n

The Anglican Church of Lesotho has a long-standing tradition of community engagement and spiritual guidance. In recent years, the Church has increasingly focused on addressing social issues affecting the youth, particularly the rise in drug abuse. This initiative reflects a broader concern within Lesotho about the well-being of its younger population and the need for supportive environments that foster faith and resilience.<\/p>\n

As drug abuse becomes a significant challenge, various community leaders and organizations are collaborating to create initiatives aimed at prevention and support. The Church’s call to worship is part of a larger movement to encourage youth to seek solace and strength in<\/p>\n
