Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The need for health facilities in Gangs in Qacha\u2019s Nek district has alarmed the community living in the area. The community reports that some people have lost their lives and have not received treatment in the long run to the health center for help.<\/p>\n

King of the Crows King Malefane Ralikhatala Lerotholi explained that the people living in Ha-Motlatsi, Khohlong, Ha Mokutlu and ‘Maseepho Ha-Thiba-There and Likhakeng live in great danger as they travel 4 km to reach the centers.<\/p>\n

of the hospital. Lerotholi pointed out that the mobile clinic has not been seen for a long time to provide health services. Lerotholi explained that the problem is particularly acute during the Covid-19 pandemic because even if a person is traumatized it will take so long to get help, that a person will eventually die.<\/p>\n

He also shows that older people end up suffering from a number of ailments that can be attributed to long journeys that can be treated with medication to alleviate their illness.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gravel road that was started by the Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs in 2012 is also a reason for the community not to get to the health services as soon as possible as it has not been completed yet and there is no transport to facilitate travel.<\/p>\n

In an interview with one of the residents of Likhakeng, Mr Pitso Rakolobe said they were very concerned that the elderly, pregnant women and people who could not walk were the ones who were most affected because it was difficult to get to those remote facilities.<\/p>\n

Rakolobe confirmed that they were contacted by a mobile clinic to bring a solution to the problem but for now such services have not been available for many months and during the follow-up it was reported that vehicles they will not be able to bring services closer to the community.<\/p>\n

“I appeal to those involved to come up with a solution as soon as possible as it affects the community so much that they end up losing loved ones and members but their lives could have been saved by rushing to the hospital,” Rakolobe said.<\/p>\n
