Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong> <\/span>Senegal\u2019s appeal over the AFCON 2025 outcome could take between nine and twelve months to resolve, according to legal representatives, potentially delivering a verdict just weeks before the next tournament.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuch a procedure usually lasts nine to 12 months, but we want it to go faster. However, all parties (CAF and Morocco) must agree to it,\u201d said Serge Vittoz.<\/p>\n

The appeal comes after the Confederation of African Football confirmed Morocco as AFCON 2025 champions, awarding them a 3\u20130 victory in the final and adjusting FIFA rankings accordingly.<\/p>\n

As a result, Senegal\u2019s standing has dropped from 12th in January, with 1706.83 points, to 14th in March, with 1684.85 points.<\/p>\n

FIFA\u2019s recognition of Morocco as champions underscores the impact of CAF\u2019s ruling and highlights the high stakes involved in the ongoing legal proceedings for the West African side.<\/p>\n

The appeal process at the Court of Arbitration for Sport introduces uncertainty for Senegal ahead of upcoming competitions, with both ranking points and historical record implications hanging in the balance.<\/p>\n
