Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The Federation of Lesotho Rugby (FLR) has scheduled to hold its general elections on April 17th where a new committee will be elected. FLR General Secretary (SG) Lit\u0161itso Mot\u0161eremeli indicated that the federation holds<\/p>\n

its elections after every 4 years. \u201cOn the positions that are going to be contested for, SG position is an exception because the FLR was recommended to<\/p>\n

align itself with world sports associations including our mother body sports associations, the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC) and LNOC whose<\/p>\n

SG\u2019s positions are normally perpetual. The SG is the only position which holds documents that will sustain an association when the newly elected committee arrive in<\/p>\n

office,\u201d Mot\u0161eremeli explained. He affirmed that the available positions to be contested for in this elections are only for the President, Vice President, Vice Secretary General, Treasure,<\/p>\n

Public Relations Officer (PRO), 3 members, Women representative and Players representative. Asked about the criterion for elections, Mot\u0161eremeli said the association is guided<\/p>\n

by the constitution, which stipulates that the affiliates should hold updated two years FLR membership and above either as a member of the team or an individual<\/p>\n

member to be eligible to participate in the elections. They have to write and hand in recommendation letters which describe their competence for the contested<\/p>\n

position and also the contestants must have been nominated by one associate and two more associates seconding the appointment. \u201cSome of the participants have already applied for their preferred positions and<\/p>\n

other committee members have shown their eagerness to occupy other positions apart from the ones they are currently in, while others confirmed that they are<\/p>\n

comfortable where they are. The list of the participants will be revealed after the dateline, March 17th. Mot\u0161eremeli further showed that the current committee is lead by FLR President Fetang<\/p>\n

Selia-lia while the SG \u2013 who is not up for replacement \u2013 is Lit\u0161itso Mot\u0161eremeli. \u201cFrom the first 2017 annual general meeting, FLR has worked hard and there is<\/p>\n

prosperity within an association as at the moment we are in the position where we are going to affiliate with the world rugby,\u201d FLR Secretary General said.<\/p>\n
