Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Lerato Mohale says \u2018Purpose Forgotten Too\u2019 novel focuses on men who have forgotten their roles and responsibilities in their families. \u201cIt is centered on men who<\/p>\n

have forgotten about their responsibility of being fathers to their children and husbands to their wives, so this book entails very emotional content that targets disputes surrounding alcohol abuse, infidelity, physical<\/p>\n

and emotional abuse,\u201d she revealed, adding that the novel highlights social issues inclusive of substance dependence, love, family, abuse and faith, entirely written to provoke thoughts.<\/p>\n

Mohale further noted that the Purpose Forgotten Too is a sequel of the first novel Purpose Forgotten which was published in 2017. Mohale started her writing<\/p>\n

career in 2005 while in primary school. According to her she demonstrated her interest through poetry until she explored other different genres of writing.<\/p>\n

She added that she was inspired to venture into writing because it was the only way she could clearly express her feelings. \u201cAs an introvert, I could only portray my feelings in<\/p>\n

writing to pass on the message to its targeted audience,\u201d she indicated. So far she has only managed to publish the two novels. Mohale disclosed that she<\/p>\n

is currently working effortlessly to empower upcoming authors by helping them to publish their work. The young Author and Poet indicated that she has recently engaged in various projects that are aimed at giving the upcoming<\/p>\n

authors an opportunity and platform to publicize their work after compiling their publications and thus has paused with writing. She said her task is to<\/p>\n

equip them with necessary skills and knowledge required in writing processes, which will uplift them. These books are to be published in both English and<\/p>\n

Sesotho. On other observations, she said the principal challenges that local authors are faced with include among others low readership, saying Basotho prefer reading international books over<\/p>\n

local publications. \u201cIt is also hard to find publishing contracts in the country hence all my publications were made in South Africa. This makes it hard<\/p>\n

for upcoming writers to publish their work. Another major problem is penetrating the local market, fortunately I overcame this problem by giving out free copies of the books to attract clients,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
