Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The Lesotho cyclist Khothalang Leuta will represent women in cycling and the country in Lisbon, Portugal in the Red Bull Pump Track World Championship Finals scheduled to commence on October 12the to 18th.<\/p>\n

Contacted for details, Federation of Cycling Lesotho (FCL) Public Relations Officer (PRO) Malefane Morie informed that Leuta was born in Roma Lesotho and is an affiliate of Roma Cycling Club which mostly specializes<\/p>\n

with BMX riding rather than Mountain Bike and Road bike models. He said Leuta qualified for this competition following her eagerness, experience and obedience, which<\/p>\n

she particularly demonstrated in the BMX cycling race sport. \u201cFrom her five years\u2019 experience in cycling, Leuta won the Lesotho\u2019s National Pump Track in 2019 which lead her to<\/p>\n

qualify for World Championship Finals in Europe. She also performed well in the Matekane Group of Companies (MGC) Extravaganza competition that was held at<\/p>\n

Mant\u0161onyane during the launch of Ha-Rapokolana High Altitude Marathon last year. FCL wishes her success in this competition and hopes she at least receives a silver medal,\u201d he enlightened.<\/p>\n

Leuta\u2019s Coach Christian Schmidt, in an exclusive interview with Informative Sport, revealed that there will be two riders who qualified to participate in this competition from<\/p>\n

Roma Cycling Club and they are Khothalang Leuta from the girls and young Mosito Mohapi. He said he met Leuta at Roma in 2017 where he saw a lot of interest from the youth, particularly girls during the<\/p>\n

launch of the Lesotho Sky race monthly competition. \u201cShe started cycling in 2017 together with a group of young girls and women and they trained regularly,<\/p>\n

she showed a true talent and interest during the course of this competition because she kept getting faster and faster, this is where she started enjoying<\/p>\n

the sport and taking it seriously,\u201d Schmidt stated. Asked about his expectations from Leuta, in this upcoming competition, Schmidt noted that the most important<\/p>\n

thing is for her to remain calm as this is one of the toughest competitions. \u201cIt is not about winning but participation and also to be able to handle the pressure in order to finish in a strong position.<\/p>\n

I think she is psychologically prepared to race against the best pump track women in the world. The experience she got from the past competitions will motivate her to continue training hard, qualify and keep increasing her performance,\u201d Schmidt noted.<\/p>\n
