Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Advocate Salemane Phafane King\u2019s Council (KC) has been re-elected as Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) President following his victory over Maseru District Football Association<\/p>\n

(DIFA) President Lijane Nthunya at Bambatha T\u0161ita Sports Arena on Saturday. In the statement that was issued by<\/p>\n

LeFA on Sunday, it was noted that the KC secured 42 votes out of 49 delegates, who were eligible to vote in the congress while his challenger scored only<\/p>\n

seven votes. The statement further noted that in his speech, LeFA President, who was recently elected to serve in the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, conveyed his message of gratitude to LeFA structures<\/p>\n

for trusting him with another term in office as the President of the football mother body in the Kingdom. \u201cTo you my leaders, Secretaries, Presidents, and members of our structures, I thank you for your unshaken trust<\/p>\n

in choosing me as the leader of this Association again. I must say that without you, I\u2019m nothing. \u201cI once again appeal to all the structures to join hands for the betterment of our football.<\/p>\n

I take this position on a mandate from you and together we can grow the level of football in this country to higher level. We have big dreams for our football, we need your expertise,<\/p>\n

and we invite all of you to work with us to achieve this dream of ours,\u201d reads the statement in pertinent part. It also presented that LeFA XVI Congress was graced by officials from the Lesotho Sports and Recreation<\/p>\n

Commission (LSRC), Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC), LeFA Honorary Secretary General Chief Justice T\u1e67eliso Monaphathi and Honorary National Executive Committee (NEC) members Mr.<\/p>\n

Thabo Pule and Mr. Rantsubise Matete among many others. LeFA Secretary General (SG) Mohapi Mokhosi, in an exclusive interview with Informative Sport on Monday,<\/p>\n

indicated that LeFA Presidential elections were transparent in witness of all LeFA administration structures. He noted that normally LeFA held its Presidential<\/p>\n

elections after every four years and this congress was the 16th. \u201cThe re-elected LeFA President firstly gained experience from Lesotho Football in Bantu Football Club \u2013 \u201cA mat\u0161o Matebele\u201d<\/p>\n

as Legal Advisor and later became Secretary General. He then joined LeFA where he performed his assignments with due respect as a Legal Advisor, Secretary General, Vice President and then he replaced the<\/p>\n

late LeFA President Thabo Makakole in 2005 to be LeFA President,\u201d Mokhosi noted. He added that Phafane also served in various positions in the Confederation of African Football (CAF).<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was appointed to as a member of the world football governing body \u2013 Federation of International Football (FIFA) Disciplinary Committee and Honorary Vice President of the Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA).<\/p>\n
