Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>The Deputy Minister of Water Affairs, Hon. Lepota Sekola on the need for water. Speaking to the Liphakoeng community on Wednesday, Sekola pointed out that according to the water supply study, there is a lot of water in the area as there is a swamp that can help with the supply.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to my community for finding water tanks today and you will be like the people of other villages.<\/p>\n

It is my commitment that before there is water in the Eagles here I will pay for water for this community, and I have already made that commitment, \u201dSekola puts it, referring to the collected tanks for the construction of water supplies.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the Falcons community is collecting rainwater when they drink clean water. He requested that by the time the water connection starts, all water networks including tanks and pipes will be started from the beginning.<\/p>\n

“The village of Phango is not very big so my wish is for every family to have a pump,” the Deputy Minister of Water explained.<\/p>\n

He also shows that he is a worm with contractors as they seem to be the ones causing the damage as they are looting used equipment and water is no longer available.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Director of Water Supply Mr Felix Malachamela pointed out that there are three protected areas in the project area and there are water tanks provided for the community to collect water.<\/p>\n

Malachamela also indicated that there would be steps to be taken by the department during the water connection, and also warned the public to cut down trees that appear to be present near the swamp as it is a water-drinking species.<\/p>\n

Liphakoeng water committee secretary Ms \u2018Mathapelo Sekola in an interview with the Voice of the People newspaper explained that the need for water in the area was very old, saying the community was drawing water from the swamp.<\/p>\n

“We are very happy and excited about this event as the water we are pumping into the swamp there is not clean and it has been a very difficult journey for us.<\/p>\n

What we are waiting for now is to see the water supply implemented directly, \u201dMs Sekola said. One of the residents of Liphakoeng, Mr Motlalentoa Lerata, said, \u201cWe draw water from wells, springs and streams just to get water.<\/p>\n

After the Deputy Minister of Water said this, we feel very confident that we will get water. \u201d Liphakoeng Chief Mathibe Ntikoane emphasized the need for the community and, among other things, said that they also needed electricity and access roads.<\/p>\n
