Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Lesotho Institute of Accountants (LIA) handed over food parcels worth M10 000 to St. Angela Cheshire Home for Disabled Children which is currently taking care of 35<\/p>\n

children. The move is part of the institute\u2019s annual social responsibility following the letter received from St. Angela Cheshire Home for Disabled Children, requesting for<\/p>\n

donations of any kind. LIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Monyaola Mosoloane explained that they decided that during these Christmas holidays, they will donate food parcels as a<\/p>\n

Christmas gift to the home. \u201cWe thought to ourselves that as people are busy preparing for Christmas, you too should have something to eat,\u201d he said. Mosoloane<\/p>\n

further encouraged students to work hard during their high school days so that they can be future accountants who are registered with LIA. He added that they<\/p>\n

should perform well in subjects like Mathematics and English so that they can be Chattered Accountants, insisting that accounting is one of the broad professions with a bright future ahead of it.<\/p>\n

St. Angela Cheshire Home for Disabled Children Administrator \u2018Mamokhosi Thamae thanked LIA for such a great impact to the lives of its residents. She explained that<\/p>\n

the home takes care of children with bone defects, noting that it aims to bring them closer to Abia High School and Seleso Primary School that admit those<\/p>\n

living with disabilities, and this year they have 35 children. Thamae said the donations came at a perfect time of Christmas holidays as children are going<\/p>\n

back to school after they were closed for a very long time due to Covid-19 pandemic. \u201cWe were already worried about what we are going to feed them when<\/p>\n

schools reopens,\u201d she said. She said taking care of children living with disabilities is very challenging especially those that come from poor families.<\/p>\n

She, however showed appreciation that they will celebrate Christmas with some food on the table. A representative from the Ministry of Social Development Ret\u0161elisitsoe Thoahloane<\/p>\n

said one of the ministry\u2019s tasks is to deal with people living with disabilities and thereby congratulated LIA for meeting them halfway. He wished for LIA to be a successful, grown company which will continue giving back to<\/p>\n

the community. Meanwhile, LIA President Lefu Mokaoane said they are thankful for the invitation made by the home to their office which made way to seeing how they can contribute in improving the lives of the children.<\/p>\n
