Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Disc Jockey Association of Lesotho (DJAL) committee has terminated membership of one of their senior DJs, Tseko \u2018Mamonyane famously known as Dj Tseko. This emanated from the crushes owing to DJ Tseko\u2019s failure to comply with the association\u2019s written agreement, to which all members are bound.<\/p>\n

He reportedly used the sound system of the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology for his event on June 06th
\nThe association was registered legally in 2013 and is known for promoting solidarity among DJs in Lesotho as well as protecting their rights.<\/p>\n

It runs under the membership regulation that 80% of the members should be DJs of Lesotho and 20% is open for outsiders. DJAL President Malefetsane Tsoeliane explained that on June 06th, the event was prepared by DJ Tseko who utilized the government equipment.<\/p>\n

He added that when the committee confronted him, DJ Tseko did not show remorseful for his act. Tsoeliane stated that a letter was written to DJ Tseko, inquiring his response to what transpired but he refused the letter saying he does not accept letters in streets but rather at the post office.<\/p>\n

The DJ in question was an active supporter of the association and its Constitution. He was terminated based on section 6.4 of the DJAL Constitution, which states that if any member of the association has acted in an unethical manner, it shall be incumbent on the committee to dismiss such member.<\/p>\n

Replying to the accusation, Dj Tseko said the association is only \u201cpulling a stunt\u201d on the issue of equipment, he said explained that the sound system is not the core case against him but the advert which he saw on Television.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t see any problem at all of using that equipment because the committee does not have a breakthrough and good management since they only communicate when there is a funeral,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He furthered that members of the committee do not reprimand people who say insults in the group, explaining that the president (Tsoaliane) spoke to him in an inappropriate way, which other members witnessed.<\/p>\n

He said it is surprising that the President did not receive a disciplinary note on this matter. DJ Tseko further said the committee has killed the DJs\u2019 industry, saying they admit everyone, even those without proper accreditation.<\/p>\n

He concluded that he does not have a problem with not being part of the association. \u201cDJs are still being hired with just an appearance online. At this moment I have every freedom of using the Ministry\u2019s sound system as I please, that giving me a chance to host three shows at once,\u201d DJ Tseko said.<\/p>\n
