Africa-Press – Lesotho. <\/strong><\/span>Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) has been relieved from its devastating struggle with transport services, which hindered it from committedly undertaking its duties.<\/p>\n

This is thanks to the donation of an ambulance from the Lesotho National Insurance Group (LNIG) Hollard. As yet another humanitarian act and a token of appreciation to the national security institution \u2013 LMPS, LNIG handed over a<\/p>\n

branded which will go a long way in helping the entire nation with emergency medical transportation. This donation was delivered on Wednesday this week.<\/p>\n

LNIG Managing Director Mpho Vumbukani said this donation will mostly help LMPS\u2019sdepartment of Health Service. Vumbukani enlightened that the ambulance was to be delivered<\/p>\n

last year but due to the complications brought by the advent of Covid-19 the assignment was delayed. \u201cFollowing the long-lasting partnership we have with LMPS, we found it worthy to close the gaps that were somehow leaving<\/p>\n

Basotho in danger. Roughly a year ago, we had assisted with the donation of a12 seaters mini bus. In above 40 years of its existence, LNIG secured the nation in various circumstances through funeral<\/p>\n

and life covers and therefore we were challenged to make this donation because our services are mostly realized where complications exists,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Vumbukani added that they are committed to take this relationship to the next level by extending a helping hand when need arises. He urged LMPS to take care of this valuable property.<\/p>\n

For his part, Commissioner of Police Holomo Molibeli said the ambulance is going to be essential for travelling patients around hospitals, saying they have been<\/p>\n

using regular vehicles that are rather risky for the sick. \u201cIt will be operated by LMPS paramedics\u2019 experts from the department of forensic science and health services and we<\/p>\n

guarantee that it will be in good hands,\u201d Molibeli noted. Acknowledging the gesture, the Prime Minister (PM) Dr. Moeketsi Majoro said he regrets to mention that he is<\/p>\n

familiar with the challenges of equipment faced by the police. \u201cIt is a great honour to see a Non-Governmental Organizations meeting the needs of government<\/p>\n

departments,\u201d Majoro said. He highlighted that this ambulance is going to be helpful and thanked all the businesses in Lesotho for their continuing support in extreme situations.<\/p>\n
