CIS Launches WASSCElab Digital App to Augment Liberian Students Readiness for WASSCE Exam

Africa-Press – Liberia. The Center for Integrated Solutions (CIS), as part of an effort to level the playing field for all Liberian students preparing for the West African Senior Certificate Examination (WASSCE), launched its newest digital application styled “WASSCELab App,” aimed at strengthening students and building their capacity to make improvement during national exams.

WASSCElab, a digital platform that offers high-quality study materials to complement students who require extra support, regardless of their location, socioeconomic status, and background was launched over the weekend by the Ministry of Education Deputy Minister for Instruction, Hon. Alexander Duopu.

Hon. Duopu, proxying for his boss, Hon. Ansu D. Sonii, spoke on the topic of Private Public Partnership for quality education in Liberia. He said the PPP involves collaboration between government agencies and the private sector which includes the Center for Integrated Solutions buttress government efforts through the education ministry to build, finance, and operate in a way that will improve the educational system of Liberia.

Following the official launching ceremony, the president and founder of CIS Varlee Sannor, speaking with a team of journalists said CIS is a local organization that is involved in system strengthening within both the education and health sectors including innovation and youth capacity building of which WASSCELab is one of their initiatives that CIS has been working on over the last three years.

” Today with the involvement of the Ministry of Education endorsing this initiative to see that the WASSCELab launched and being graced by influential people, dignitaries including officials is something that brings proud to us”

“Our next step now is to begin engaging various schools and students to make sure they adapt to this app to adequately prepare them for both their schools and WEAC-Liberia.

” We want to make sure that our students feel prepared and empowered with the right materials and guidance as they go into period” We don’t want them to be lagging behind during exams period it’s against this backdrop that CIS saw it prudent to prepare them early,” Sannor said.

He added that the App can be found on the Google PlayStore where students can have access to it by downloading it, he said the app contains past WASSCE exam questions including studies strategy and feedback mechanism among others.

We have over 300 questions per subject that are based on past WEAC questions, he went on to say the usage of the App doesn’t require anyone to sit in a classroom instead they can be at home or anywhere and download it to practice for exams he said.

He said the idea to launch the App was based on personal experience saying I’m a Liberian who went to school here and saw the difficulties our students face that cause them not to perform during WEAC exams.

It will interest you to know that students who are brilliant and intelligent in their various schools are not performing in WEAC exams due to a lack of adequate tools, saying What we are doing now is to empower and give them confidence ahead of their exams says Varlee Sannor.
