Cuttington University, established in 1889 by the Episcopal Church USA, recently celebrated a significant achievement by launching its first-ever digital center for learning and innovation. The inauguration of the Orange Digital Center Club at Cuttington University in Gbarnga, Bong County marks a new era of opportunity and creativity for students and faculty in the region.
This momentous occasion was made possible through a partnership between Cuttington University and Orange Foundation, with funding support from GIZ. With a project value of around US$200,000, the inauguration of the Orange Digital Center Club signifies a commitment to empowering the youth and the community to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
By combining creativity, education, and digital proficiency, this new digital center paves the way for a future filled with technological promise. Distinguished guests who attended the event expressed their enthusiasm for this visionary collaboration.
Dr. Romelle Horton, President of Cuttington University, aptly summarized the significance of the moment by declaring, “INNOVATION LIVES HERE”, setting the stage for endless possibilities on the horizon.
Furthermore, Ms. Sara E. Buchanan, Executive Director of Orange Foundation and Orange Digital Center, along with Mr. Supu Cole, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Orange Foundation, emphasized the immense potential of this initiative in empowering the community.
Rev. Armah N. Varfee, Sr., County Education Officer of Bong County, and Dr. Charles Amanze Ihedioha, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Cuttington University, highlighted the transformative impact that the Orange Digital Center Club will have on education and skills development.
