Africa-Press – Liberia. MTS Sickle Cell Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization founded in 2015, will host its inaugural holiday brunch as part of its ongoing efforts to raise

awareness, support, and sensitivity surrounding Sickle Cell Disease in Liberia, West Africa. The event will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 from noon to 2 p.m. at John F.

Kennedy Medical Center located at 22nd St. & Tubman Blvd. Sinkor, Monrovia. MTS Sickle Cell Foundation has been advocating for people living with SCD for over six

years and has held its annual holiday breakfast in the United States for families living with this chronic genetic blood disorder in the USA. The organization is proud to partner with

Chronic Care Clinic and HEAL, Inc. to host this free event for families who are impacted by SCD in Liberia “Being able to help the Liberian Sickle Cell community, as someone who was born and

raised there, is truly a personal milestone for me. We are hopeful that this event will become an important annual event to bring much needed support to the sickle cell

community in Liberia and I am very grateful for the generosity of our sponsors, volunteers, family and friends. Sickle Cell Disease affects many Liberians, however Liberia is not apart

of the global sickle cell conversation. We need all hands on deck to not only raise awareness in Liberia, but to do what we can to support families who are impacted by this life-threatening genetic disease,” says Mapillar Dahn, Founder of MTS Sickle Cell Foundation
