Africa-Press – Liberia. Monrovia — The chief executive officer of club Fassell FC, Cassell Kuoh, has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art sports stadium valued at $4.5 million.

According to Mr. Kouh, who is a former Vice President of the Liberia Football Association, his ambitious project aims to boost the development of sports infrastructure in Liberia, providing athletes and fans with a modern facility to enjoy and participate in various sporting events.

Mr. Kuoh unveiled his vision for the new stadium during a press conference last week when the club presented its new players ahead of the 2004/2005 season.

The construction of the stadium is set to begin within eight months, with the initial investment estimated to be in the amount of $ 650,0000, he said. The proposed stadium, he added, will not only serve as the home ground for FC Fassell, but will also be a multipurpose venue capable of hosting a wide range of sports events, including football, athletics, and community events.

Mr. Kuoh emphasized the importance of the project in fostering the growth of sports in Liberia. “This stadium will be a beacon of hope and progress for our athletes and sports enthusiasts. It represents our commitment to elevating sports in Liberia to international standards,” he stated.

The new stadium will feature cutting-edge amenities designed to enhance the experience for both players and spectators, he said.

Key features of the stadium will include seating capacity, he added. Accordingly, the stadium will accommodate up to 10,000 spectators, providing ample space for fans to support their teams, he added.

The playing field will be equipped with high-quality artificial turf, ensuring optimal playing conditions throughout the year. It will include training facilities, locker rooms, and medical centers to support athlete development and well-being as well as entertainment and restaurants areas, he said.

Mr. Kuoh emphasized further that the construction of the stadium is expected to have a significant economic and social impact on the surrounding community, stressing that the project will create numerous job opportunities during the construction phase and ongoing operations, contributing to the local economy.

He highlighted the broader implications of the project, stating, “This stadium is not just about sports; it’s about creating opportunities, fostering community spirit, and driving economic growth. We believe it will inspire future generations to pursue their dreams in sports and beyond.”

The announcement comes at a time when FC Fassell is preparing for its training camp in Cairo, Egypt, ahead of the 2024/2025 season. Mr. Kuoh explained that his vision is to continue to drive the club forward, stating that the new stadium project is a testament to his dedication to sports in the country.

“We’re doing part of the stadium for now with emphasis on the playing pitch and a mini sitting capacity among other things as part of efforts to host our home games in Marshall but the entire project is valued at $4.5 Million.” Mr. Kuoh said.
