‘I am Prepared for the Pressure” – Solomon Grimes on his Return to Liberian Football

Africa-Press – Liberia. Solomon Grimes says he is not afraid of the pressure from fans coming back to play in the Liberian local league.

The former Lone Star right full-back was unveiled Thursday as part of FC Fassell’s ambitious project to claim the 2024-2025 season.

” I can retrospect when Varmah Kpoto and other former National team players came back home to play in the local league and how they were mocked.

“I am ready for what is ahead, ” Grime said after he was presented by Fassell CEO , Cassell Anthony Kouh Sr. on Thursday.

Grimes, 36, has not been involved with active football since July 2016, when he left Cypriot side Nea Salamis Famagusta.

The former LISCR FC defender said he is fit and ready to give his all for FC Fassell.

Grimes started his career with Liberian league side Mighty Barrolle in 2003, spending five years with the ‘Rollers’ before moving on to Liberian top side LISCR FC in 2007.

He joined Greek side Ethnikos Piraeus for the remainder of the 2007 season.

In 2011, Grimes joined Cypriot Club Nea Salamina, where he played from 2011-2016, making 130 appearances.

Grimes gained his first call up to the national team against Gambia at the age of 17 in a World Cup Qualification Round, and went on to make 38 appearances for the Lone Star.
