Africa-Press – Liberia. FC Fassell and Determine Girls have been crowned champions of Liberia’s First Division and Women’s Upper League, respectively, capping off dominant seasons for both clubs under the ownership of Anthony Cassell Kouh.
FC Fassell sealed the men’s championship on April 10, 2025, with a 4-2 victory over Invincible Eleven at the SKD Sports Complex. Goals from Mark Yallah, who scored twice, alongside strikes from Ezekiel Koon and Trokon Yancy, handed Fassell the win that dethroned Watanga FC and confirmed them as Liberia’s new First Division champions.
Despite a 1-0 loss to LPRC Oilers on the final day of the season, Fassell was officially crowned champions on Sunday, April 20. The club’s title success follows a strong pre-season training camp in Egypt and significant investment in the squad by CEO Kouh.
Meanwhile, Determine Girls continued their dominance in women’s football, securing their fifth consecutive league title. The defending champions thrashed Kneeling Warriors 7-1 to clinch the championship with three games to spare. They ended the season with 19 wins, no draws, and only one loss from 20 matches, finishing 11 points ahead of their closest rivals.
With the 2024/25 title, Determine Girls have now qualified for the WAFU Zone A Championship, a qualifier for the CAF Women’s Champions League, scheduled for August in Thies, Senegal. The team is now just three titles away from matching Earth Angels’ historic record of eight league championships.
Both Fassell and Determine Girls are owned by businessman Anthony Cassell Kouh, who expressed pride in his teams’ achievements. Speaking after Fassell’s crowning ceremony, Kouh emphasized the importance of preparation and investment.
“The earlier you prepare, the better your chances of becoming a champion,” Kouh said. “We are reaping what we sowed. No team invested more than Fassell this season.”

He revealed that Determine Girls will hold a training camp abroad, similar to Fassell’s preseason in Egypt. Plans are underway to secure a camp in either Europe or the Middle East as part of preparations for continental competitions.
Kouh also confirmed plans to strengthen both squads ahead of their international campaigns, specifically targeting a top-quality striker for FC Fassell.
“We’re looking for a real natural goal scorer. We create chances but struggle to finish. We’re scouting Africa and Europe, and if top players from Chelsea, Arsenal, or Manchester United are available, we’re ready,” he said.
