Africa-Press – Liberia. Some people believe that to solve problems, one should spend money. But one who is a rogue must not be given more money because the person will continue to steal money. The rogue will continue to be a rogue, especially when the money belongs to somebody else. This Commentary helps anyone to spend money wisely.
Spending money unnecessarily is bad because it promotes more bad spending. This is the source of longstanding and widespread corruption. The past three governments of Liberia state that corruption is the number one enemy of Liberia. Yet there is no government plan to stop and prevent corruption. No wonder, the people of Liberia conclude that Liberia is headed in the wrong direction (Afrobarometer, 2022).
This means that the prevailing system of poverty generation is due to corruption. This prevailing corruption is seen in the work of National Legislators who continue to have access to at least LD200,000 and their foreign business partners continue to have access to at least LD300,000,000 a day while the suffering poor people of Liberia continue to have access to at most less than LD300 a day (CBL, MFDP, MC, WB, IMF and UNDP).
But this bad situation is being reversed through the raising of awareness within the Rule of Law. The reversal of this bad situation is seen in the non-re-election of the Legislators and the Candidates, respectively, with bad records, at the Election of October 10, 2023. This raising of awareness is changing the bad prevailing system into a good, enduring system.
It is this change that is changing the system of injustice into an enduring system of justice. This is ai once the only and best way to get persons with good records elected to bring in the system of justice, the indispensable ingredient for peace and progress in Liberia and in any other country.
