Africa-Press – Liberia. As Arts and Culture Ambassador, CIC will represent ACANA’s cultural initiatives, including the annual ACANA African Music Festival, Africatown development events, and programs aimed at uniting African and Caribbean communities across the diaspora.
Liberia’s own Maurice Tosh Gayflor, better known as Cralorboi CIC, has been named the first-ever Arts and Culture Ambassador for the African Cultural Alliance of North America (ACANA), a leading nonprofit organization in Philadelphia, USA.
This prestigious appointment highlights CIC’s growing influence as a global cultural figure and reinforces Liberia’s place in international arts and entertainment.
As Arts and Culture Ambassador, CIC will represent ACANA’s cultural initiatives, including the annual ACANA African Music Festival, Africatown development events, and programs aimed at uniting African and Caribbean communities across the diaspora.
“This partnership is more than music—it’s about elevating African voices and celebrating our rich heritage globally,” said CIC. “I’m deeply honored to represent Liberia and the African diaspora in this role.”
Known for hit songs like “Big Papa”, “Jon Buttay”, and “Weekend” featuring Nigerian Afrobeat star Iyanya, CIC has earned 22 awards and performed on international stages with stars such as Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Kizz Daniel, and Tekno. In 2018, he became the first Liberian-based artist to sell out a show in Melbourne, Australia.
The announcement comes as ACANA prepares for its 17th annual African Festival on August 3rd at Cherry Street Pier in Philadelphia, where CIC will headline. The festival is one of the largest African cultural events on the East Coast of the United States, celebrating African music, food, and arts while bringing together diaspora communities.
“CIC embodies the talent, resilience, and creativity of Liberia,” said Voffee Jabateh, ACANA’s CEO. “We’re proud to have him as a voice for our community and a bridge between Africa and the diaspora.”
This milestone underscores the impact of Liberian artists on the global stage and serves as an inspiration for aspiring musicians and creatives in the country.
