Africa-Press – Liberia. Ahead of the much-anticipated “Say No to Drugs” campaign march scheduled for Thursday, August 7, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has reaffirmed its full commitment to the nationwide effort aimed at curbing the growing menace of drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the country.
The LDEA says it is fully aligned with the campaign’s objectives and will be participating actively in the upcoming march, which seeks to raise awareness, encourage community responsibility, and galvanize national action against substance abuse.
In a statement released Monday, the Agency confirmed that it will collaborate with the Joint Security to ensure effective coordination and crowd control throughout the march and related activities.
Additionally, more than 40 women from the LDEA, under the banner of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency Women’s Association, will join campaigners and civil society advocates in the march as a visible show of solidarity.
“This is more than just a symbolic march—it is a national call to action,” the statement read. “The LDEA remains resolute in its commitment to drug prevention and control as a national priority. Every citizen, institution, and stakeholder has a critical role to play.”
The Agency also lauded the organizers of the campaign for their initiative and expressed appreciation to all citizens, community leaders, and international partners supporting the ongoing fight against drug abuse and trafficking.
“As we prepare for August 7, let this serve as a moment of unity and purpose. Together, we can build a drug-free Liberia,” the statement concluded.
