The Political Leader of the newly formed Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) Party, Representative Musa Hassan Bility, has issued a stirring appeal to the people of Nimba County, urging them to make a “chocolate choice” in the upcoming 2029 Presidential and Legislative Elections.

Speaking at a vibrant ceremony in Sanniquellie City, Nimba County over the weekend, Rep. Bility called on Nimbaians to carefully consider their options and elect leaders who prioritize development, unity and empowerment.

As the ruling Unity Party (UP) prepares for the 2029 Elections, Vice President Jeremiah Koung is reportedly hoping to secure a second term, relying heavily on support from his family and close associates within Nimba County.

However, it appears that many Nimbaians are looking beyond old alliances.

Thousands of Nimbaians including key community leaders, women and youths have pledged their allegiance to the CMC, signaling a shift in the county’s political landscape.

Among those who have joined the CMC are influential figures such as former Representative Larry P. Younquoi of District Number Eight in Nimba County, former executive of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) and a broad coalition of grassroots supporters.

Many cited the noticeable progress in local development initiatives and the culture of unity and inclusiveness fostered by Rep. Bility as major reasons for their support.

During the ceremony, Rep. Bility detailed the party’s ambitious plans to expand its reach across towns, villages and communities not only throughout Nimba County but in other regions of Liberia as well.

He emphasized the importance of collective actions and encouraged all Nimbaians to participate actively in shaping the country’s future by choosing leaders who will genuinely serve their interests.

A key pillar of the CMC’s platform is the empowerment of women and youths.

Rep. Bility stressed that these groups are critical to Liberia’s development and assured that the party is committed to implementing programs that uplift and engage them fully in national progress.

“Our agenda focuses on creating opportunities for everyone, especially our women and young people, to thrive economically and socially,” he said.

As the 2029 Elections approach, the CMC is intensifying efforts to mobilize support and present a viable alternative to the incumbent government.

With the growing momentum, the CMC hopes to inspire Nimbaians to make an informed and impactful choice aimed at fostering sustainable development, unity and inclusivity.

At the same time, Rep. Bility made a powerful statement during the vibrant induction ceremony of the Women’s Congress of the CMC. The event, held recently in Nimba County, drew thousands of women from diverse towns and villages across the region who came together to endorse and pledge their unwavering support for the activities and vision of the CMC Party.

The atmosphere was electric with enthusiasm and hope as women from all walks of life including farmers, traders, educators and community leaders joined hands in solidarity to advance the goals of the movement.

Rep. Bility passionately urged the attendees to remain actively engaged in the party’s initiatives, emphasizing the crucial role women play in driving social and political change in Liberia.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the empowerment of Madam Yar Tokpah, the newly appointed head of Nimba County Rural Women for District Number Two, around the Sanniquellie area.

Madam Tokpah was presented with a brand-new car as a symbol of empowerment and recognition of her leadership role. This vehicle will significantly aid her mobility and effectiveness in coordinating programs not only within Nimba, but also across Region Two, which encompasses the neighboring counties of Bong and Lofa.

The induction event was marked by traditional songs and dances, colorful attire, and heartfelt speeches, underscoring the cultural richness and deep commitment of the women to the cause.

The CMC Women’s Congress pledged to continue fostering unity, advancing women’s rights and contributing to sustainable development throughout the region.
