The MelPat Foundation, a community-based humanitarian organization in Barnersville Lulu Pennoh Community, has extended a gesture of goodwill to Jehu Albert Beh, a Liberian battling stroke and high blood pressure for several years.

As part of its outreach, the foundation donated five bags of 25kg rice and ten thousand Liberian dollars (LD$10,000) to Mr. Beh to help ease the economic and health challenges he continues to face.

The presentation was made by the foundation’s Mobilization Chairman, Dexter D. Davies Sr., who emphasized that the gesture was consistent with MelPat Foundation’s mission of uplifting disadvantaged citizens.

“We as MelPat Foundation thought it wise to come and identify with you today. This is our way of giving back. We take care of the less fortunate in society—those battling stroke, paying school fees for struggling students, and providing the necessary support to improve the lives of the poor,” Davies said during the donation.

According to Davies, the initiative to support Mr. Beh came after Administrative Director Sam Pontia Jadoe saw his condition and informed the CEO who immediately authorized the assistance.

“We have come to present these items to you—five bags of 25kg rice and ten thousand Liberian dollars. We know you were there for us when we were coming up, and now it is our right and time to identify with you,” Davies added.

Receiving the donation, Mr. Beh expressed heartfelt gratitude for what he described as timely support during a difficult moment in his life.

“I really appreciate you for coming to identify with me. Just seeing you around gives me hope. Coming here today, especially at this critical time, means a lot to me,” he said, visibly emotional.

He further reflected on his earlier years, recalling how he had supported many of the young people now behind the MelPat Foundation.

“I feel good that the kids I took care of before can now come back and extend their hands to me. This shows that nothing we do for others is wasted,” he added. The MelPat Foundation has in recent years carried out several humanitarian initiatives, including providing educational support for underprivileged children, assisting sick community members, and organizing outreach programs for vulnerable families.

The donation to Mr. Beh, community members say, is yet another demonstration of the foundation’s role in promoting compassion, unity, and social responsibility at the grassroots level.
