Kuoh Commends LFA FIFA For Mini-Pitches Infrastructure

Africa-Press – Liberia. Kuoh described the development as a “positive step toward improving football infrastructure in Liberia,” and a clear demonstration of what can be achieved when international funding is properly channeled.

Monrovia – Cassell Kuoh, President of FC Fassell, has lauded the Liberia Football Association (LFA) and world football governing body FIFA for the successful launch of two FIFA Arena Mini-Pitches, while challenging football authorities to expand similar projects nationwide.

The mini-pitches, located at Bible Way Mission School and the Edward B. Kesselly (EBK) Barracks in Schiefflin, Margibi County, were inaugurated on September 29 under FIFA’s Forward Program. Liberia is one of just eleven countries tapped for the first phase of the global initiative.

Kuoh described the development as a “positive step toward improving football infrastructure in Liberia,” and a clear demonstration of what can be achieved when international funding is properly channeled.

“This project is a positive step toward enhancing football infrastructure in Liberia and a testament to what can be accomplished when resources are directed toward their intended purpose,” Kuoh said. “I commend the LFA for ensuring that FIFA’s support was properly utilized for the development of the game.”

He also thanked FIFA for selecting Liberia for the pilot phase, calling the decision a recognition of the country’s deep footballing passion and potential.

“These facilities represent meaningful investments in the future of our young players and communities,” he added.

While commending the project, Kuoh stressed that two mini-pitches are not enough to address Liberia’s chronic infrastructure gaps. He urged the LFA to build on this momentum by leveraging more partnerships and resources to replicate such facilities across all counties.

“As someone who has consistently championed the need for greater investment in football infrastructure and capacity development, I see this project as an encouraging start, one that must be expanded,” he emphasized. “Every young Liberian deserves access to quality playing facilities and the chance to develop their talent.”

Kuoh also highlighted the wider role of football in Liberia’s growth, pointing to its potential as a unifying force and a driver of economic opportunity.

“Football is one of the greatest tools for national unity, youth empowerment, and economic growth. The more we invest in the game, the brighter the future of Liberian football will become,” he concluded.

The opening of the two mini-pitches comes at a time when stakeholders continue to press for sustainable investments in sports facilities, which many believe are essential if Liberia is to lift its football standards to continental and global levels.
