Africa-Press – Liberia. As preparations intensify for the 2025/2026 Liberia Football Association (LFA) Third Division League, Mardine FC Head Coach Prince Tieh has confirmed the completion of the club’s player selection, emphasizing that the process was based strictly on discipline, merit, and performance not favoritism or personal connections.
Speaking to FrontPage Africa, Coach Tieh said his final squad was chosen after weeks of careful assessment during training sessions, focusing on both the technical and character of the players.
He stressed that only players who displayed consistency, discipline, and a strong work ethic were selected.
“Our final selection of players was carried out in the third week of October 2025, and it was done purely on merit,” Coach Tieh said. “We are not looking for friendship or who knows who. Our goal is to help Mardine FC reach another level in Liberian football and that can only happen through hard work, discipline, and focus.”
The coach added that the technical staff’s immediate target is to secure enough points in both rounds of the upcoming season to qualify for the Third Division playoffs.
According to him, discipline remains a non-negotiable standard for every player representing the club.
“I’ve made it clear to the players anyone who displays rude behavior or violates the team’s code of conduct will face serious consequences. Good behavior is the foundation for success in football,” he emphasized.
He further urged players to take their academic studies seriously, highlighting the importance of education alongside football.
“Football can open doors, but education secures your future,” he said. “We want our athletes to succeed not only on the field but also in life.”
With preparations now complete, Mardine FC looks forward to the start of the LFA 2025/2026 Third Division season, confident that its newly selected squad will deliver a strong and disciplined performance on the pitch.
